There has been many a company that has had to resort to purchasing additional earnings through acquisitions when the organic growth dries up.

In its lawsuit, M&T claims Deutsche Bank deceived M&T by claiming the two securities it sold were “safe, secure, and nearly risk-free” — even safer than corporate debt and nearly as safe as Treasury bills.

sounds like ABN Amro's CPDO's..... that were famously earning 200 basis points more than other triple A rated synthetically engineered yield instruments.

the $BKX (the Bank Index) has been cut in half since late Feb of 2007, down from 121.16 to 60.97 on today's close; and it still has a the chart still looks terrible.

it is in the close vicinity of the 2002 double low, but the industry and index chart need a long quite period of rest and low volatility...... ($BKX get well soon!)

GOOG has a very bearish pattern continuing to unfold in it.
