They already are ramping as fast as they can - it takes time to build plant and equipment. GMC finally got it just last week that they need to switch models.

No they are not... they are hedging their bet like any good company. With a strong, firm long term government policy they would have the confidence to really go balls to the walls.

What was their first clue....when oil hit $130? Oh wait, it was the unions......the unions told GM's CEO to make the switch. I get it now.

Oh wonderful...maybe next week they will decide to stop building new Hummer dealerships and the week after that they will figure out that the Japanese are coming with the Prius.
They sure did a great job spotting the Japanese coming in the 70s and 80s.

But as you say..."it takes time to build plant and equipment".Isn't one of the main reasons top management is paid those big bucks...to make the right decisions affecting the future of the company?

Ah yes though...it is the fault of the UAW...

Interesting though... to give them some credit, they seemed to have figured out the Chinese and Indian markets in advance.
