Thanks; a higher cost base means that the treshold price where supply shrinks because its unprofitable, is now higher. It may have been $300 a couple years ago today it might be more like $600. Similar mechanics may apply to Oil where oil might be plenty yet to drill at a multiple of todays cost (e.g. oil shales in canada).

btw oil came out positive after a choppy day looks as if it wants up, not down.
