That might make sense at least. I just don't want to see another Nixon running up body counts for an abstract personal definition of America's "honor" that digs us deeper and deeper in a hole.

If you really believe in free market fundamentalism, that does not make sense. Oil is fungible. If we are not there, we could let them manage the oil flow. Sell it to anyone they want. It makes no difference. Oil is fungible.
