Everything is going up, not so much because of energy, but because of the dollar, which is going down. The US will go bankrupt unless taxes are raised substantially or the national debt can be paid off with devalued paper dollars. A better question is why is the dollar going down ? Bush will get the credit for lowering taxes, and the next president will get the blame.
