I think he knows. Both of my daughters went to our local public school and both were honor students. One went on to Berkeley and the Loyola law school. She had no trouble competing. My other daughter went to the university of Oregon and majored in environmental science. Public educations all the way except law school. Here is the problem with vouchers from a liberal's point of view. It weakens the public school systems and many of the parents will send their children to religous schools (which just preaches a certain dogma, not educate in a secular fashion) like kids who go to the madress (sic-where bin laden went) schools in the middle east where they are taught rote Koran and learn to hate America and jews. The gangs and break down of social systems is real and a very big problem. But it is a complicated.: overpopulation lack of money Cultures are evolving fast, changing from dogmatic cultures to existential cultures. This is a true dilemma as it puts individual rights and powers against societies rights and needs. Works great for kids who get an education and can develop their own morals, but destroys kids who don't as they cannot think very well and do not even have the old time cultrual script to keep them on the straight and narrow. A strong mind is developed. We are not born knowing how to think. Cheers,

Carter, being a rather humble sort, chose to send Amy to public school. Little has changed in public education despite all of the fancy buildings built and the reduction in class sizes. Schools now have security gaurds, unheard of in 1954. Will Obama send his daughters to public school in D.C. if elected? Obama went to a PRIVATE ELITE SCHOOL, PUNAHOU IN HAWAII---THE SILVER SPOON SCHOOL. Obama has no concept of what an excellent public education is nor what the structure of the Public Education System should be or not be------he never had one.
