This oil cycle we have the usual combination of:

a.) demand outrunning the supply of light/sweet crude, and;

b.) excessively accommodative monetary policy;

. . . but this time it's coupled with

c.) the demand spike from a war which has lasted longer than WW-II. You'll notice the prior Gulf War spike did not coincide with the prior cycle.

Think back to 1979-1980, exaggerate it, and that is today -- with a similar great opportunity to buy stocks and real estate at cheap prices in another 3 to 4 years or so.
