Reid and Pelosi are full of crap. Leased acreage that hasn't been drilled is either being evaluated for drilling (takes time) or has been evaluated and found not to have economically recoverable reserves. Federal offshore leases are usually 5,760 acres in size. Federal onshore leases are 2560 acres except in AK where they're 5760 acres. Every 5760 acre tract offshore and 2560 acre tract on shore doesn't have exploitable oil under it.
