Mary,

Tell me where your hearing that Obama supporters are still trying to "stick it" to Hillary. I have not been hearing that and I listen to myself a lot. I actually voted for Hillary in the primary; but, I was slowly moving toward Obama as the primary dragged on. I don't dislike her. ("sticking it to her" has a lot of imagery associated to it.} On the contrary, I actually was smitten when I saw her the day after she announced to run for Prez, walking down the steps with Bill at the Neue Gallery in NY, as I was about to walk up to enter the gallery. Both she and Bill looked dazzling. No photogs around, secret service yes, and they hugged genuinely and drove off in separate vehicles. I found out that the were in the lovely pastry restaurant in the Gallery and I guessed that it was a strategy session. That day I thought she would win against anyone in the race. By the end of the primary, in spite of my 'drift' toward Obama, I had greater respect for her brilliant mind and how much she had grown as a speaker during the campaign. So any "sticking it to her", for me, is a fantasy that I'm sure is linked to Oedipus and Jocasta. Oooops, I'm older than Hillary. Well, it just goes to show that Oedipal issues have nothing to do with age.
I will also venture to say, off the record and in an 'armchair psychoanalytic fashion, that those who are still "sticking it to her", in print or on blogs, have a variety of Oedipal issues with her of the sado/masochistic variety--not my thing--and if she had won the primary, it really would have come out from the Repubs. (just as Michelle is starting to catch it now.)I think Michelle is very bright and will quickly learn to take care of herself in the fireworks that is beginning to take shape. If Barrack makes it to the White House, I think Michelle will become a star like Hillary has become. I think because of Michelle's powerful personality, there is no way that Barack will not have a positive respect for women, specific women who will fill seats in his cabinet, and feminism, in its many varieties.

>>Not only that but Obama supporters are still trying to stick it to Hillary.<<

Mary -

As Ms. Quindlen pointed out, it was never Obama himself who belittled or demonized Hillary. It wasn't even her campaign staff. It was mostly bloggers and pundits whose only real goal is to make themselves seem important.

Anyone who is still trying to "stick it to Hillary" should simply be ignored.
