Hmm... does have the smell of a japanese intervention.

The rules have changed. The shorted EUR shows much more gains than the USD. Interesting. This is the trade!

But the carry trade reversal tells me how to trade.

half day later:

The yen is exactly flat vs the USD and shows nice gains vs. the EUR. I am happy that I made both bets for the yen not just one.

Now what?

I sold the USD/JPY position because it does not perform; it never tried a run ahead of 107.40 or so. Underlying dollar strength made the yen gaining in crosses.
