That would be pretty remarkable if true. Last I checked they hadn't approved drilling since the spill in the late 60's.

But I think the way the law stands now states can decide independently. So Florida and California can go seperate ways.

I saw an article about it in the SB NewsPress(I think). First time GOO has agreed to support drilling since 1969. They are slant drilling off of Pt Arquello ...just off VAFB.

I think there's offshore production in California, production from wells drilled pre-1970, but there isn't any offshore drilling.
