I think you could also say it helped Norway build a pretty healthy economy too.

Real test is Russia. There is no reason Russia shouldn't become a pretty wealthy nation with all the oil and natural resources available.

Depending on the report you read, Russia has now surpassed Saudie Arabia as the leading oil producer.
