OK, i see your point. So if you cant keep them focused then all this is a sham and we will wait until the oil bubble collapses and we go back to business as usual? Last time we did that we got 30 years of energy at reltively low cost.

One of the reasons this is one initiative that should not be left to market forces alone.

I think a compromise between the Dems & Reps could go a long way -- allowing additional drilling, cutting through red tape, etc., in exchange for additional drilling & development.

The problem of course, is that that Dems aren't about to compromise on a damned thing.

The Dems MUST accept responsibility for this mess, because it is their own creation. Right now, they are digging in to a rather absurd position, and just making it worse.

The attacks on the oil companies, which are totally the wrong approach, are politically motivated and serve no purpose other than to confuse people.
