My house is entirely electric already - actually want to switch to a gas range/electric oven and have a backup propane heat system via a propane wood stove. Power outages in the winter are a real pain. Can't get piped NG as I'm too far out of the city - last to get service when the power goes out as well.

There are some wood pellet, or wood chip stoves out there you may want to check out. It is renewable fuel (if you care).

Unfortunately, most ranges have electric ignition to prevent people getting sick from pilot lights leaking gas.

Why don't you use heating oil....is cheaper (much) than electricity and doesn't have the awful smell of gas. I switched from electric to oil during the 70's crisis and was able to heat my whole house for the same price I was paying to heat two rooms with electric. I still have the electric system and use it as a back up.

Power outages in the winter are a real pain.

The last time we had a major outage I dug deep and bought a generator capable of powering pretty much the entire house. Haven't used it but a couple times, but it is really convenient.
