Unfortunately, most ranges have electric ignition to prevent people getting sick from pilot lights leaking gas.


Actually - that's the advantage - no pilot light, electronic ignition - of course when the power outage occurs I simply use a lighter as I do already for the one burner stove that runs off a can of propane. The other obvious advantage is four burners as opposed to the one small burner and a huge (hopefully) supply of gas.

Plus I got used to cooking over gas in California and Korea and prefer it to electric - hot now.
