The trains are right now so horribly expensive to build, unless you have a major 10 million or more population base like NYC and DC and vicinity, who can afford to build them? I've always agreed that if we had the time, trains would be much more relaxing and fun....

A couple of times in the last couple of years I wanted to go back East on a boondoggle or two to just sightsee, but the planes were just too expensive to go at the last minute, plus the hotels....so I looked into trains. They were even worse...more than twice ++ as expensive and of course, took longer.
