This is another reason why we need electric cars. They will help get people off their fixations about the big bad oil companies. As monopolies, electric utilities are more tightly regulated. Some are government owned, and some are structured as co-ops owned by the customers. As a last resort, people can even install solar panels to make their own "juice". If we get enough electric cars, the resulting demand destruction will lower oil prices and reduce those "obscene" oil company profits.

37% of Democrats support nationalization. I think that makes it official, we have a socialist party, at least a major wing of one of major parties is socialist. Not welfare state socialist, ownership of the means of production socialist.
