Actually, if you're a moderate you have to ask yourself some questions:

Obama is pretty farleft - as shown by his longtime friends. Plus if elected, Congress and the WH would both be in the hands of liberals - the Congressional leadership are not moderate Democrats, they are old liberal dinosaurs like Pelosi, Waxman, Reid. Do you want both those branches of govt to be liberal held? Or would it be better to split power between the parties?

OTOH, looking at it from a moderates standpoint, McCain has the history of being a maverick, he's the epitome of an independent minded Republican. Heck, thats why so many Republican are mad at him.
