Eric, what do you think about the Supreme Court ruling:

nytimes.com

A 5-4 decision was much closer than I thought it would be. The minority opinion probably foreshadows things to come:

> A dissent by Justice John Paul Stevens asserted that the majority “would have us believe that over 200 years ago, the framers made a choice to limit the tools available to elected officials wishing to regulate civilian uses of weapons.” Joining him were Justices David H. Souter, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen G. Breyer.

Yeah, imagine that, the framers deciding that the Bill of Rights limits government power rather than expands it.

Scary to see how liberals will interpret some amendments to make them essentially meaningless (e.g. the 2nd amendment) while expanding other amendments to protect "rights" that clearly were not meant to be included in the original wording (e.g. 4th amendment right to kill your unborn baby, 14th amendment right to force governments to recognize same-sex marriage).
