I just checked mine that was reissued in March 2007. That is near when the Obama one was issued. Mine has unique watermarks , threading, a raised seal and no fuzzy stuff in between the printing.

My original, from 1960 NC, was a small, flimsy piece of paper that looked like a negative image (white on black) photocopy, which is what they gave my parents after I was born. At some point, in the process of getting my first passport IIRC, I got a certified copy (not unlike Obama's) from the county records office because I had no idea where the "original" was.
