What do you think GXS.v's coal in the ground is worth? I found this list: eia.doe.gov which states that in their latest data in 2006 it was $10.26/st. Which doesn't jive with their other web page: eia.doe.gov that says average underground price for coal in 1996 was $38.28/st. But, that probably includes all grades of coal lumped together.

I found more current data: eia.doe.gov

I took the data and plotted $/st vs Btu/st and did a linear regression giving me the equation:

$/st = 0.0238*Btu/st - 203.14 with R^2 = 0.8327

Using GX.v's average of 9,200 Btu/st in the 22.6 m thick seam yields a market price of $15.82.

So, what's Mr Market say it's worth in the ground?
