BQI...
For "Speculation Friday," Cramer featured Oil Sands Quest (BQI - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) as a real estate play on the ever-increasing quest for more oil. Oil Sands Quest currently controls over 500,000 acres land in Saskatchewan, Canada -- perfect for oil sands drilling and could be sitting on up to 10 billion barrels of bitumen, or dirty oil.

Cramer explained that while bitumen is harder to refine than light sweet crude, with oil well over $40 a barrel, the economics of oil sands now makes sense. But even if Oil Sands Quests doesn't find oil at all, Cramer values the company as a real estate play.

Cramer compared Oil Sands Quest to Ivanhoe Energy (IVAN - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr), which recently purchased leases in Canada at a value of $2.8 million per square acre. Applying that number to Oil Sands' 1,200 square miles of land, Cramer said the company could be valued at $3.4 billion, or more than 3 times its current enterprise value.

Cramer did caution viewers that Oil Sands Quest is speculative. The company has no revenue and has been issuing a slew of stock offerings which has been dilutive to its outstanding shares. He cautioned viewers that with Oil Sands Quest trading at just over $6, they must use caution when buying the speculative name and not pay up for the shares.

BQI...As you can see by the chart, passing 6.59 is very important so if it does that again on Monday then it looks to me it could very well be working toward the next R close to the $9 area. Let's face it, BQI already had the momentum without Cramer, now with him I would think it should even do better at least in the ST.

Something is Brewing at Oilsands Quest (Beyond Cramer's Endorsement)
by: Seymour Prophet posted on: June 22, 2008 | about stocks: BQI Font Size: PrintEmail On Friday, after trading down after lunch time (eastern time), Oilsands Quest (BQI) rallied from being down $0.12 to ending the day up $0.39, or by 6.7%.

After the close, it became apparent why. Clearly, someone got word that Jim Cramer would be talking about the stock in his segment. Jim Cramer mentioned BQI very favorably in a 6 ½ minute segment of his “Speculation Friday” show. In the segment, he mentioned that BQI could be a takeout target and could be worth about $16 dollars per share. He also said that, even if you discount the stock by 50%, he said it should be worth $8.34 per share. I would think that BQI could open up strong on Monday on the endorsement by Cramer.

From the volume on the stock (the stock has traded between 5-7 million shares per day over the last 6 trading sessions) and from the volume on the call options (the October $7.50 calls have been particularly active), I’ve got to believe there is still something other than Cramer’s mention of the company brewing. With the company presenting at two private conferences over the next few weeks, I would venture to guess a favorable operational update providing additional bitumen resource estimates could be imminent. We'll have to wait and see if I'm correct.
