Obama's state senate committee passed the law making it easier for Rezko to stack a state board with his cronies. This is the plot Rezko got convicted on.

Obama is dirty.

McCain’s position on immigration is not a flip-flop but a zigzag.

At best, he is trying to play cute with the issue by muddling his stance. At worst, he has betrayed the civil rights activists who used to publicly and regularly praise his compassion and courage for standing up to the nativist, anti-immigrant sentiment in his party.

Hispanic leaders do not question where his heart is on Latino issues; they worry about his political commitment after bailing last year when the going got tough.

Historically, McCain has been on the side of Latinos to such an extent that immigration hard-liners do not trust him.

McCain was reelected to the Senate in 2004 with more than two-thirds of Arizona’s Hispanic votes. His legislative record includes efforts to reduce the Latino high school dropout rate, make Medicaid benefits available to legal immigrant children and pregnant women, and to preserve sites that were landmarks in the life of United Farm Workers union founder Cesar Chavez.

Immigration opponents remained skeptical of McCain last year even after he vowed to certify that the borders are secure before moving on to other needed reforms, such as visa expansions and temporary worker programs.

So, as he tried to win over the conservative base by shifting his immigration stance, he hurt himself with Latinos who have been stung by the toxic environment created by Republicans’ unbridled anger over immigration.

And Mc Cain has four - it was five- of his top campaign staff on the EADS payroll as Lobbyists. One of the five has had to quit Mc cains campaign as he was also a top lobbyist for several out of control dictators. The other four are still working for mccain and one of them is his finance chief.

EADS is the defense group primarily made up of AIRBUS but also including ,as a minor partner , a us defense contractor Grummen Lockheed , that won the huge , multi year air tanker contract over Boeing, even though a lot of the work would go to europe .

It is most true that Boeing played mickey mouse with another defense procurement and got caught ; but , then ,in the air tanker procurement EADS got the bid in part because an influencial Senator named John Mccain pushed it for EADS over Boeing. Isn't it interesting that the Defense Auditors have found several very unusual aspects of that bidding , suggesting it was rigged for EADS against Boeing. The Defense audit office is forcing a rebid which will take over a year as our tankers get older and older. One wonders if there is some linkage to Mccains tirades against Boeing several months ago. We shall see as the plot unravels.
