As the expression goes, the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent...looks like it will be business as usual in the military/industrial/corporate complex for the next four years until a real sense of panic sets in...I just saw that President George Bush and John McCain have been urging Congress to lift a federal ban on offshore oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge just as a new global warming report finds that North America is likely to experience more droughts, excessive heat and intense downpours...meanwhile Barack Obama showed how much of a corporate man he is when he voted against reform of the US Mining Act of 1872, and voted for a class action restriction law that is the toast of the corporate elite: his appointed economic advisers are right out of the Robert Rubin school of Citigroup and the University of Chicago.

There is quite a bit of off shore oil here in BC...they drilled and capped it about 20 years ago...I assume they are waiting for the "right time" to negotiate/sell/give away the rights...I am fairly new to BC but I don't see the province giving a 100 year exclusivity to US big oil like was done in Alberta in the 70s...
