TJ, as I wrote, I cannot give full vent to expressing an opinion here because living under the shadow of a dictator inhibits proper thinking.

Suffice to say it's nice to see China catching up to where New South Wales and New Zealand were a century ago. If the rulers of China and Taiwan study New Zealand, New South Wales, Australian, and British history, they'll be able to find a sensible way to run their relationship. But because of personality defects, they might not be able to figure it out, a bit like Robert Mugabe and Zimbabwe are having trouble getting sensible arrangements established.
