McCain proposes $300M prize for new auto battery

It makes a good headline, but I'm not sure it's effective. There are at least a dozen companies working feverishly on new battery technology and the "prize" for winning is a lot more than $300 million.

That said I applaud him for headlining one of the key stumbling blocks to all electric vehicles (and better hybrids).
