As you may remember far from mourning Russert's death I celebrated it.

I NEVER watched one of his shows, but being one of the big mass media liars who helped trick the public into supporting the war, I wish him eternal damnation if such exists (which I greatly doubt)

Watched a documentary last night about the US moon missions of the 1969-72 period. Those astronauts were incredibly brave and talented people; still they were morally corrupted by the militarism and jingoism that infects US society.

One of the astronauts said he felt guilty for a while that the was unable to join his air force friends in bombing the hell out of the Vietnamese -- the big US enemy in those days.

What can you say about a society that so corrupts is best and brightest.
