The oil business is filled with crooks who got a license to steal when their two brethren Bush-Cheney got into power and removed any oversight of the industry. The first thing that happened was that six major oil companies became three, then the collusion around Bush's pals at Enron to screw over the West Coast and whole country with a phony energy crisis, then the gradual jacking up of oil and gasoline prices to 400% of what they were under Clinton. And of course the corrupt war for oil (which failed so miserably except for Halliburton types) in Iraq. There is nothing remotely ethical or honest about the oil business these days. And their dishonest PR TV ads are disgusting talking about how they are so green and clean. What a pack of crooks and traitors. 200 billion in windfall profits taxes wouldn't be enough. They need to be heavily regulated and held accountable.
