Actually, the most likely scenario is that since Obama's whole life has been one achievement after another, he probably was top 10%. The theory fits the facts.

It would be an outlier (read as statistical improbability) if a person with bad grades and no brain
1) got so lucky as to somehow manage to get into Punahou,
2) then go on to get lucky again and get into Columbia,
3) then get lucky again and somehow get into Harvard,
4) then win the lottery and somehow get into the Law Review,
5) and then somehow get lucky yet again and get elected President,
6) then luck of all luck somehow get awarded Magna Cum Laude.

Wow. That's a string of luck so long as to be improbable. But never mind me, I'm just a math and statistics guy.
