Woerns, I wish there were more details on level of modification. The Spansion press release says: This is accomplished by leveraging the standard memory DIMM form factor while requiring little platform modification. Virident says: ecosystems. In contrast, Virident's core platform, while revolutionary, is designed to be seamless and fully compatible with data center hardware and software infrastructure as well as with existing business processes. I suspect that this is not exactly a consumer level product, but a niche product - potentially very profitable niche. It would take someone like Google, or other big search engine companies to jump on it to become big. Spansion could certainly use a profitable, memory hungry niche of the market... I wonder how this DIMM is constructed, and what kind (and what capacity) Spansion chips go into it. Joe
