Agreed. The rewards in the marketplace are big enough that a government paid reward is superfluous. Why pay anything?

We need gov't subsidies for things we need that people wouldn't do without the subsidy.

And then, there's the chemicals to create and recharge and dispose of the battery. The "reward program" has to be for the full cycle of its effect and life.

I doubt it has been thought through, except as a campaign "stunt".

An inventor could qualify for the reward, but owe royalties to the patent holders behind the "invention".

VERY true. There are already plenty of companies working on it already, because the market rewards are already in place for it. So you are absolutely correct. It's a gimmick. But I do like the direction his mind is now going. This is the type of thinking the whole country needs to get behind.
