I just paid $90 to fill up my wife's SUV. I know I know. We bought it 8 years ago to haul the kids around. I need to get rid of it. But the fact is that I agree with you. The only thing stopping this country from being oil independent is political will. The technology already exists, despite all the Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt that the oil companies are so successfully pushing to the public.

Just mildly pissed after having paid $72 to fill up my car

What car are you driving? I just paid $ 90 to fill up my car.

I REFUSED TO BELIEVE THAT THIS GREAT COUNTRY OF OURS, KNOWN FOR PUTTING A MAN ON THE MOON AND OTHER TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS, CANNOT FOLLOW THRU A PLAN TO BECOME ENERGY INDEPENDENT IN 20 YEARS!

Well, can you believe that this great country of ours elected George Bush as President. We have among the smartest people in the world, more Noble Prize winners, and yet elected a person who does not read a book - or read the children book "My Pet Goat" upside down - as the top man, and now we have a candidate who may become a President who was fifth from the bottom of his class?

And how do you explain that the government promote ethanol from corn? Brazil gets it from sugar cane.
