Valtrex is the anti-viral prescription for treating Shingles and Herpes. Zostarax is the shingles vaccine.

BTW, Medicare does not cover the vaccine (unlike the flu vaccine). My husband's part D Rx was charged $200.00 for the vaccine (plus his $25.00 co-pay).

I am wondering ... with the $$$ they take out for Medicare A&B and the medigap insurance and part D, why shouldn't I be able to apply for the same insurance that our federal officials have? You notice that all proposed medical programs exclude those receiving medicare. With my medical coverage premiums exceeding $300/month, I would think that would buy great private medical insurance coverage. BWDIK?

I think my doctor did not mention the shot, because I have a compromised immune system - SURPRISE! The last 12 months have been hell!

Where did you get that picture of my backyard? ;-)
