Those services would be the same whether I earned $40K or $2M. They don't help me earn $2M rather than $40K.

Everyone believes in a society based on the enforcement of law. The only difference here is that you think government wealth redistribution programs are essential for a healthy society and a growing economy. So let's try a thought experiment.
