Do you recall the absurd prices and rolling blackouts of the California electricity crisis of 2000-01?

There were dozens of perfectly good explanations for the crisis: a lack of generating capacity, a drought in Washington state, a shortage of transmission capacity, etc...

But, after Enron went bust...

End of crisis... and not a problem since...

The speculation is actually speculation on the dollar. Commodities like oil are a hedge for the dropping dollar value.

Gas will go down to 2 bucks if...

we invade Canada and Mexico and grab their resources and screw their people;

And nuke China and India, and take all their drivers off the road
And tell OPEC and Russia they have to sell to us before they sell to their domestic market.
Might even get down to $1.75.

But it'll go back to 4 bucks by 2020, even with all that.
