The Fed has proposed new credit card rules and the public comment period ends next week (according to a comment on the DFS cc this morning).

By the first release above:

"All three Federal Register notices are attached. In light of the significance of the issues raised, the comment period for the FTC Act proposal ends seventy-five days after publication of the proposal in the Federal Register, while the comment periods for the Regulation Z and DD proposals end sixty days after publication."

60 days from May 2 is July 1.

Chrysler Denies Rumors Of Bankruptcy Filing

The speculation apparently originated in Europe and followed Tuesday's action by Chrysler to exercise a $2 billion line of credit from Cerberus Capital Management and Daimler.

ELMAT: Probably Germans wanting to buy on the cheap...
