"Lots of Bush supporting (R) incumbents that have had rock solid seats for years have been given the boot and replaced with challengers who all mainly claim they aren't Bushies!"

Seen similar things here. It started in 2004. Wohlgemuth thought she had a killer campaign. She was promising to be Bush's representative in the House.

It didn't work as well as she thought it would.

Despite being gerrymandered, Chet still managed to beat her by 4 percentage points. Granted, Bush did carry the district with 70%, but Arlene's results make you wonder exactly how much of that 70% was the "I can't bear to vote for Kerry". The district, which snakes its way from BCS to DFW, was specifically designed to get a Republican elected. I mean, it even includes Crawford.
