It is totally beyond words!! Delahunt expresses his pleasure at siding with al Qaeda members who are watching the proceedings on CSpan against a member of the Bush administration:

In a sane world, this would be a scandal that would call into question whether any member of Delahunt's party should be elected to Congress in November.

John at Powerline is entirely correct....

If I were the President, I would drop all charges against KSM due to the fact he was not read his Miranda Rights after arrest. Then, as a course of restitution for his mistreatment, I would grant him amnesty and a job as a summer intern for Congressman Delahunt. A perfect job for the mistreated detainee considering his past experience would be personal bodyguard for the Congressman and his family. Considering the Congressman's openly stated allegiances, he may need it.

To get the abused intern acclimated to his new environment and to help him effectively execute his job responsibilities, I would put him in the spare bedroom next to the Congressman and his spouse. Of course, he would necessarily be outfitted with the appropriate weaponry (I hear he has experience with a rusty hacksaw) and discreetly informed of the customs customary in such situations and remind him he must stay in physical contact with the congressman 24/7 or he would be returned to incarceration. I'd give him a cell phone with pre-programmed numbers for the Democratic leadership should he have any questions or problems.

Then, aware that a madman was loose in DC, I would take summer vacation in Crawford, leaving Dick in charge.

The ensuing mayhem would probably be enough to occupy the MSM for the summer.

The farce continues, part 2 [EDIT: see above link]
POWERLINE
Last night in "The farce continues" John Hinderaker wrote about the interrogation of Cheney chief of staff David Addington by Rep. William Delahunt (D, Mass.). In the course of the hearing at which Addington appeared, Rep. Delahunt said to Addington that, with C-SPAN's broadcast of the hearing: "I'm sure they [al Qaeda] are watching, and I'm glad they finally have a chance to see you, Mr. Addington, given your penchant for being unobtrusive."

Following the hearing, Delahunt denied the natural import of his words. Delahunt claimed that "under no circumstances" was he implying during the hearing that Al Qaeda may target Addington. "That's absurd. That was not my intent," he told FOX News. "And I'm sure Mr. Addington knows that was not my intent." The FOX news story adds:
*
Delahunt said he was just trying to express that he was glad to see Addington. Delahunt said he recalls saying "I," not "they," during the testimony - though the video, broadcast on C-SPAN, shows he was talking about Al Qaeda.
*
Thus John Hinderaker's rather more forthright comment: "In a sane world, this would be a scandal that would call into question whether any member of Delahunt's party should be elected to Congress in November."
