I like this photo from a few days ago, of the colonialists yet again getting the local yokels to sign up to a treaty. It looks just like the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840, with the patriarchal Michael Cullen standing looking on as the Maoris make their mark on the agreement. southernledger.com The whole concept of tribe and race is a messy shambles, which makes no sense in the grand scheme of things and in the long run.
