i was stepping back and what is bottom line benefit to us as consumers if we drill off the coast... certainly helps balance of payments, creates jobs, brings in more federal and state taxes on new leases, but does it bring down the price of crude oil? Most likely it has minimum impact on world prices. not sure how we write laws to bring down prices,, that would be like china and india and mid east that subsidize gasoline now.

i still support drilling off the coast.
