Other governments deliver, and their living standards passing us by or catching up quickly. We need to hold our own government accountable and stop this fallacy that government ruins everything it touches. Certainly there are limitations with public systems, but privatization has limitations also--mainly ruthless greed. Look at Enron. Look at the banking system.
I would be a libertarian, or even an anarchist, but greed and predation screw up these systems.

Dale,

I would hope that what the Govt. does is make all the various Health Insurance programs available to Federal Workers available to all at the total price paid by both the Govt and the worker. Any company who no longer wanted to participate could get out, but I believe most would remain involved and overall prices would eventually come down as with more people getting healthcare the cost of emergency and other care for the uninsured wouldn't be nearly as great, as far fewer would be uninsured.

I'd like to see reforms in insurance as well where Doctor's had more say, and accountants far less, but that's another story.
