Exactly. International lawyers have already weighed in and said that Bush could easily be tried for war crimes on the torture charges alone. Bush even admitted that he knew his top cabinet members were having meetings on how to justify torturing Guantanamo detainees and he said he approved of those meetings. He admitted his own complicity in torture! What a buffoon. The only impediment to him getting convicted at the Hague will be the lack of will power among Europeans to do something that will anger the great American superpower.

I believe that no one, including an American President, should be above the law or above the Constitution. Bush has made a mockery of both American law and our Constitution and he should pay for that. Thank God, Obama with his Constitutional Law Professorship credentials, will be our next President. He'll right some of these wrongs.

If we cooperated with the Hague in bringing Bush and Cheney to trial and they were convicted, then that would be a huge victory for human rights the world over and everyone would be put on notice that the leading powers including the US believe that no one is above the law. I think that would increase the prestige of the US tremendously around the world. Although, I'm sure neocons will say that this is unpatriotic. I can't think of a more patriotic thing to do than to uphold American law and the American Constitution and to abide by our International Treaties concerning International Law, even if that means bringing down a corrupt US President.

When they are convicted, they will not be able to travel to countries that abide to the Hague International Tribunal. Lives won't be easy for them.

Does the US abide by the Hague Tribunal? If so, can we kick them out when they are found guilty? <g>
