"Islamic theocracy spawns prostitution? Pretty ironic. But the same thing happened in Taliban ruled Afghanistan."

Not surprising. The combination effects of treating women as property distorts the whole process right from the beginning. Women are prostitutes in captivity. Like some B movie about sex in prison. They're trained. Throwing in the marginally effective 'no sex' angle mostly serves to increase demand for services, like other efforts to suppress human nature sometimes do.

A sexual analysis of the Islamic stuff is interesting. Not that it doesn't make sense in some kind of cave man way, but I would think not really satisfying to anybody, and I hope not the direction human relationships are going, but one never knows.

Iranian women are working as prostitutes

At least the Shia Iranians have an outlet. They can "marry" one of these women for an hour or so, and it's legal sex. The Sunni males have no such legal outlet other than marriage.
