Well, we're on the same page there. Greenpeace etc are total disasters.

What most of these types don't realize that it is technical progress+material wealth that *preserves* the environment. It is the wealthy countries that have things under control - and the poor ones that have the major issues.

I'd like to see a market-based environmental movement, concerned about sustainability for Homo Sapiens. But right now, I agree that much of its under the sway of these purists.

Btw, I had a huge fight with my husband and over Greenpeace a few years back. He wanted to donate money to them. I said no-way, they are sanctimonious loudmouth socialists. Even worse, they actually have a negative effect on the environment, because they simply piss off too many people. He (at the time) was a bit of a radical on the topic and compared me to Rush.

Never ever ever compare me to Rush. He slept on the couch that night.
