Oyster;
To the extent the classically liberal prescriptions that Friedman represents are applied, prosperous and civil societies ensue. When those who believe they can "run our societies" prevail, the opposite results.

koan; you just made my point in spades. Good job. That is pure nonsense. To think some madmans theory can do what man cannot is just dogma like Maoes Red book.

We are humans and we can think and solver problems together and decide how our society will function and what we value.

You think capitalism is better than democracy--that is nuts!

Good grief!

pardon me but.

if we call friedman a sociopath then we are a nation of sociopaths. most everyone has lived his theories.

ok. i have no problem with that.

most everyone is a sociopath. yep. that about covers the depth of the problem we are facing. even us here trading are no holier than thou to anyone.

we sell to someone without a care if they are on the losing end or not. someone always is. and we have been living the trading game for years now. on some level. all of us. and justifying it to ourselves as a "NOBLE" way. screw that. we all have learned greed very well.

so why don't we quit trading and take our money and grow a new economy? pull it all out and take it local. find a small growing idea and buy into it. to simple an idea.

anyone out there know anyone that is a good businessman, inventor, baker, pizzaman, farmer that needs a financial assist?

how come we don't talk about them?
how come we don't loan to them?
how come we don't think the local economy needs it worse than the wall street thiefs?

probably because we quit thinking locally a long time ago. time to start.

keep trading. make lots of money. but remember to find a way to give it back.

it ain't money till you spend it.

and it is best spent locally.

back out to move the water.
