It didn't help Japan during WWII, but our guys were ALSO willing to endure some horrible conditions back then too. I'm not so sure that would be the case today for our troops OR S. Korea's. The trouble with "enlightened, educated troops" is that they start to consider their options when told to "attack that hill" against superior forces. I think it's unlikely that N. Korea will want to go to war again too, but I also thought it was unlikely that Mugabe would just resort to killing everybody rather than give up power....so who knows.
