Rink,
I listened to the CC and seem to remember that they said this: Ramp design wins in H2, so that meaningfull volume comes at the end of Q4, at which time also the transition to 45nm will happen. Real volume production should happen at the 45nm node, not the 65nm node.
Slide 21:
2008 65nm
2009 45nm
1010 32nm
1012 22nm
each generation doubling die size and DIMM size, with 2Gb/die and 32GB/DIMM in 2008 on 65nm (16Gb/256GB in 1012 on 22nm).
BTW: This also means that Spansion still plans a node transtion per year, which should probably narrow the process gap with NAND flash significantly.

Rink,

Can it be presumed that 45nm shipments are only to be expected around summer '09?

We will get an update shortly. I want to know when the production samples will start shipping to customers.

Joe

> Cambou: "PCM is pure marketing fluff". The die and cell sizes are so big "you can land a helicopter on it".

As much as I'd like to believe that, I can't buy it. Intel and STMicroelectronics invested billions on marketing fluff?
Sounds more like Cambou is scared of what's coming.
