Iran, Russia and other neighboring countries have done the upmost so that Iraq oil industry reconstruction will not succeed. If you notice Russia is providing Iran with “peaceful” nuclear technology and raw materials. As of now, the genie is out of the bottle, Iran has the upper hand and Russia is supporting Iran ambitions to undermine lower energy prices, as high energy prices benefit Russia the most. A war in the region will only benefit Russia which does all it can so a war should commence ASAP IMHO Russian present regime - most if not all KGB graduates are the most dangerous regime the world has ever known because its sophistication and tactics and the strong desire to bring back Russia as a supper power which will destroy Western hegemony – EU will fall first due to their politician’s plain stupidity. The "warming–up" of US – China relations are mostly a result of China desire to stop Russia taking over all of Asia,(how many trips made US officals last year to China?) and for same reason the US - Central Asia countries “friendship”. As background – Stalin exterminated over 50% of Central Asia and Siberia population and their initial alliances over 100 years ago where to Russia out of fear of China – so Stalin has taken advantage of teh dire situation and integrated those countries in the USSR (after the big slaughter), which Putin now tries hard to re-construct (or re-colonize)
