You are so right about classmate friendship. Many of the people who attend this annual picnic were not in my close circle of friends when we were teens. But, there is a bond now that we all cherish. We take care not to discuss politics, as we have differences there. Still, nothing gets in the way of that bond. We had about 100 in our class. Almost half that number have died over the past 54 years. We always talk about that fact and are thankful that we knew them "back then".
