Assuming that is really the way things happened, what are we to think the Army and the Pentagon learned from this? How far in advance do we plan for war? And how to do that as technology and equipment change?

Has any really analyzed what would have happened had the US kept many of Saddams' forces? Would we have been sabatoged earlier? Did we use Hitler's or the Japanese soldiers in the same way as is described here as a "should have been done?"
